FREE Block-of-the-Month! Strip Blocks

Free Block-of-the-Month Blocks are now all uploaded in my FREE 2012 BOM page! Pictures and Downloadable instructions are all working! (please let me know if you have any problems printing out the instructions!)

This is block #10

All of the blocks are Strip blocks this year. Made from your old strip stash or new 2-1/2" jelly roll stash or from cut pieces. All of the instructions are as if you were cutting new strips. Some of the blocks are made by using paper, as a foundation, and so that format makes it very easy to use up strips that are different sizes! I used up a lot of strips that I received from my grandmother!

This block shows several fabrics that I used that were varying widths, notice the fruit print? Which were the inspiration for all of the unusual color combinations.

The colors I chose are not your standard colors that would normally go together in a quilt...but, I was inspired by a fabric that I had left over (see above fruit print), which had blues, yellow, oranges, purples, greens, etc. so, as you'll see when you go to my FREE 2012 BOM page, you'll find that they all look really great together!

Thanks for reading my posts, I would love to hear about fabric combinations you've put together!

  1. Hi Denise, it's been a while since we have talked. Hope you are well, you have inspired me this morning with the blocks sent in the email. The colors just sing.
I checked out your web page, and love strippy quilts. I think I will set this as my Christmas break challenge, a few more customer quilts, then it's my time to play. 😃
How long will the blocks be available on your site? I would like to pass the link onto several of my quilting friends if that's ok.

Cheers for now, love from Wendy. X
