New Create & Decorate Magazine Article~Sneak Peak for Jan/Feb 2014

Hi Everyone,

I've just finished a magazine article for Create & Decorate Magazine. It will be published in their Jan/Feb 2014 issue. I know this sounds like forever away! But, in the magazine business, it takes about 6 months for our designs to be printed/published.

So, as a designer, it seems strange for me to be creating Christmas designs in the summer, or Summer designs during Christmas. I never know which direction I'm going. (it is always a fun one.)

I wanted to show you some sneak peeks of the materials and products I used for the project, to get you excited to buy the magazine!
I used this "Get-It-Straight" Laser Square ruler by Kelly Craft, to help me position
the rubber stamps on my raw silk fabric.
It works GREAT!
Here is what the rubber stamp package looks like, above. Unity Stamps.
Here are the Ann Butler Unity "Faux Quilt" rubber stamps I used, above! Love them!

Here are the fabric inks I used made by Clearsnap® Color Box, called "Crafter's Ink" And they are awesome.
When you heat set them, they become permanent! I even tea dyed the fabric and it didn't smudge the ink!
I used most of these cute little buttons by Buttons Galore & More

AND, here is the sneak peak of the project I made for the magazine. Can't show you any more, when it comes out, I'll add an additional post to this one! Promise! Check out the Create & Decorate website. You'll love it!

    1. thank you Ann! it is similar to the ipad cover I made. Beverly Hotz wanted the same look in a skinny quilt. I've got some ideas to use the stamps in a different way! I'll have to play! Thanks!

    1. It was so much fun working with the stamps and inks. I've always loved rubber stamps, and now they are so much easier with the clear stamps and the clear blocks. Ann's were so easy because they are borderless! Clever!

    1. All American Crafts have closed their operations. They've gone bankrupt. 2014 miid year, I think. It is so sad, because they have had so many wonderful magazines and books published! I miss them so much!
