Heart Mug Rug ~ Winner's Choice

Hi everyone!

I've been working on the Heart Mug Rug for Lynne T. She won the giveaway that I had last week! She loves hearts, so, I've added a lot of "love" to this cute little mug rug! Here is how it all started... I had just purchased the little heart print, at a sidewalk sale, given by the customers our local quilt shop (last week)...I hit it big with this purchase. There were 4 yards and it is vintage! Only 35" wide! I think I'll make some pillow cases, with some of it, it is so soft! So, when I found out that Lynne loved hearts, I knew I wanted to use this print! The "heart" fabric and binding fabric was designed by one of my talented friends! Mindy Pierce

And here it is finished: YAY! You can purchase the Heart Mug Rug pattern for yourself!

My sister brought over some pumpkin bread, so I decided to use it for the photo...I had some cream cheese frosting and little sprinkles...it didn't last very long! disclaimer: I didn't use it after the photo shoot.
I made the quilting very swirly, making it like appliqué around the heart. The heart is raw edge. I liked the loopy stitching, so, I used it more along the the seam lines. The word "LOVE" is stitched free hand, following a chalk pencil line. I also machine quilted it with little hearts, can you see them?

I hope Lynne T. likes it...cause I'm shipping it soon! I want to thank everyone for commenting on my Christmas Tree and Snowman mug rugs, you've given me a lot of ideas on other rugs to create!

What design should I make next??? These are so quick to make, I can see how addicting they can get! I bet if you made an assembly line, you could pop 10 of them out in one day...and have your Christmas all taken care of!

xoxo
Denise

  3. Oh Oh Oh -- This is Lynne T. who WON that fabulous, fantastic, fun, wonderful mug rug!! I'm so happy, I'm squealing and doing a little Heart Happy Dance around the room... and that's from a 55 year old at home alone, so it's quite the spectacle. Thanks so much for sharing, and especially for making me such a wonderful gift, for it's truly not just a giveaway win, but a gift, and very truly appreciated for every stitch of love and happiness you put into it. Thanks again!!!!
