| About Denise |
Denise Clason has been designing for a long time. Before age 9 she was designing doll clothes and stitching them by hand. Denise started her own sewing and alteration's business, "Sew-phisticated Fashions," at age 16, altering and making custom clothing for others. Some of her clients were seamstresses themselves. In college, Denise majored in Clothing/Textiles, some of her courses included tailoring, color analysis and flat Pattern design. After college Denise found experience in the retail business, managing one of the companies 26 California-based fabric stores. Her expertise & talents for management, display & merchandising were used to increase the appearance and sales of "her" store. Her talents were used to merchandise several other stores within the fabric chain. The owner of the fabric chain used her store as an example of how she wanted the others stores to look. Denise later had the opportunity to convert an illustrators art work into dolls and wallhangings. She loved the idea of creating softcraft books, so Denise began publishing her own designs into patterns, magazine articles and books. Denise is a licensed and published designer in the craft & creative industry. Her designs can be licensed and used on many different surfaces, such as fabric, bedding, table top, stationary, home decor' products, etc. Denise Clason now works for several manufacturers, designing and demonstrating their products at trade and consumer shows. |
